Two Baby Slade's

I thought it would be fun to shock you twice. First, that I'm pregnant and Second, that we're having TWINS!
So actually, we need to say,
Will they be he's or she's or one of each?
I guess we'll have to wait and see. :-)
Double the pleasure, Double the fun, we are having more than one.

I don't want the other baby to feel left out, so here is a picture of Baby 2.

Saturday Night is Movie Night

For the month of May every Saturday night so far has found Mike and I at the movie and next week will be no different. We really enjoy going to the movies (when there are good ones out) and we have been loving the release of all the new summer movies. First it was X-Men Origins, then Star Trek (which has been our favorite so far) and this week it was Angels and Demons. We will be going to Terminator next week, Mike for the action and me because of Christian Bale (ahh what a dream boat). Ha. So if you don't have any plans for Saturday night feel free to join us for the movies. :-)

Will it be a He or She?
I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Mike and I are pleased to announce the arrival of Baby Slade in November.

Behold the Magnificence of the Cherry Quilt

As most of you know, lately I've been quilting with my sister, Mariah. We love shopping at JoAnn's for fabric, because the fabrics are inexpensive and JoAnn's is always having a sale. However we were told by an expert quilter, that JoAnn's is like the Wal-Mart of quilting stores and that if we wanted quality fabric we needed to go to a quilting shop. Also, Mariah and I have made a few blankets, most of them lap quilts, and we decided that we wanted one we could use on our beds, which would need to be a queen size. So with this information we decided that we would splurge and make a really nice queen size quilt. We even bought a pattern (before we were borrowing them from friends). I chose a cherry line of fabric that I absolutely loved. Yeah for Cherries! Many hours and dollars later, the quilt is done and it turned out MAGNIFICENT. I love mine. Mariah's mother-in-law, Colleen, who is the expert quilter, was so kind and quilted it for me, she did a great job. Granted I could have bought a quilt (or two) for what I spent on all the fabric, batting and misc. items, but then every time I look at the quilt I wouldn't be able to say with such pride, Behold the Magnificence of the Cherry Quilt. (Can you tell that I love it!?!)

Here is a close up of the quilt block. The pattern we used is called Wild Things.

Here is a detailed picture of the quilting (and a glimpse of the back of the quilt). Colleen did such a wonderful job.

A Little Culture

I'm back, well at least for this post. :-) Two friends in our neighborhood are in the choir of the Utah Chamber Artists and last night they had a performance at the Cathedral of the Madeline. It was amazing. The performances were great and it was such a cool atmosphere. Plus it was nice to get out and do something a little different. Besides the Utah Chamber Artists performing, there was a piano, trombone and guitar soloist. The music was beautiful.
