Behold the Magnificence of the Cherry Quilt

As most of you know, lately I've been quilting with my sister, Mariah. We love shopping at JoAnn's for fabric, because the fabrics are inexpensive and JoAnn's is always having a sale. However we were told by an expert quilter, that JoAnn's is like the Wal-Mart of quilting stores and that if we wanted quality fabric we needed to go to a quilting shop. Also, Mariah and I have made a few blankets, most of them lap quilts, and we decided that we wanted one we could use on our beds, which would need to be a queen size. So with this information we decided that we would splurge and make a really nice queen size quilt. We even bought a pattern (before we were borrowing them from friends). I chose a cherry line of fabric that I absolutely loved. Yeah for Cherries! Many hours and dollars later, the quilt is done and it turned out MAGNIFICENT. I love mine. Mariah's mother-in-law, Colleen, who is the expert quilter, was so kind and quilted it for me, she did a great job. Granted I could have bought a quilt (or two) for what I spent on all the fabric, batting and misc. items, but then every time I look at the quilt I wouldn't be able to say with such pride, Behold the Magnificence of the Cherry Quilt. (Can you tell that I love it!?!)

Here is a close up of the quilt block. The pattern we used is called Wild Things.

Here is a detailed picture of the quilting (and a glimpse of the back of the quilt). Colleen did such a wonderful job.
