I sure do love Pinedale!

Lots of people have told me to vacation now while I can, because it's more difficult to get out with two little ones in tow, so I'm taking their advice and trying to get in lots of fun in the sun this summer. For the 24th of July I invited the Brian Slade Family (Mike's brother) up to the cabin in Pinedale. This trip was also good for me, because it allowed me to see what vacationing with kids is like, it was quite the eye opener. When they woke up the first day at 6:15am, I was afraid for my sanity, but we found a way to coax them into staying in bed until 8:00am the next couple of days and it worked out nicely for all involved.
The kids and adults were entertained with a walk up to the beaver pond, tubing on the lake, lots of games and puzzles and of course eating really yummy food.
Fremont lake is cold, even in July and August, so I told the kids that if they jumped in I would give them $1.50. Bridger and Kaitlyn took me up on it. It was so funny to see their faces when they hit the water (it takes your breath away) worth the $3.00 I had to pay.
The best thing about the trip was having Mike come up. It's been a while since he was up at the cabin and it was fun to make some memories with him.

The Fray Concert

This past weekend, my awesome friend, Michelle, organized a girls night out to the Fray concert at the USANA Amphitheater. She is always finding great deals online and she found tickets for just over $15.00. I had never been to an outdoor concert there before but I have it say it was great. It was nice to be able to lounge on the lawn and not be completely deaf by the time the concert was over. I enjoyed wonderful company, over priced concession and some great music. Thanks for the fun times girls!

Quick Trip to St. George

Mike and I went down to St. George Friday night to enjoy a fun, hot weekend and to see, Pam Slade, our sister in law, play in a softball tournament. Her team played their softball games at night so we arrived just in time to catch the first one at 10:00pm. I have never seen Pam play before but that girl is good. She played in High School and College and she has got quite the arm on her. She played catcher.

On Saturday, we woke up and went and got massages. I got a maternity massage and my masseuse really worked my shoulder and neck. It felt great. We came back to condo ate breakfast and by that time we needed a nap, so we took one. :-) In the afternoon we invited the Slade family over and went swimming. We stayed at the pool for a couple of hours splashing around and getting tan. We went to dinner at the Pizza factory (one of our favorite places) went and hung out for a while and then it was time for the softball games again.

Dinner at the Pizza Factory. Yummy!

We stayed for all the games on Saturday, one at 10:00pm and the championship game at midnight, which Pam's team played in and won. It was exciting to watch them win the whole tournament. I had my doubts about them winning when the other team was up 6 to 0 in the first inning, but they made a huge comeback and ended up winning in overtime. The final score was 7 to 8. We didn't get back to the condo until 1:30am, but it was well worth it and fun to see her play.
We woke up Sunday and had a delicious breakfast at the Slade's and then relaxed at the condo until we felt like heading home. It was a great weekend and I loved how hot it was in St. George. I would take those 3-4 months of heat over our 6-8 month winters anytime. Who knows maybe someday we'll move down south...

Two Boys

That's right, we are having twin boys!
I'd be curious to know who the two were that voted for two boys!

We had a doctors appointment yesterday and found out we are having two boys. I asked the doctor if he could tell if they were identical or fraternal. (Here's a little information on twins: If they are fraternal twins they would for sure have their own placentas. However if they are identical twins, depending on the day the egg split, they can either have their own placentas or they can share one. Each twin having their own placenta is the best, because it creates fewer problems with them having to share items in the womb. I know already a problem and they aren’t even born yet. :-)) Because they are two boys, they could still be fraternal twins, but there is a chance they could be identical too. When the Dr. looked he couldn't quite tell if they had separate placentas or not. The placentas are either really close together or they are sharing a placenta but have their own amniotic sacs. He finally decided to say that they each have their own placentas because that is the best case scenario and we are hoping for the best. So we will have to wait until they are born to find out if they are identical or fraternal twins.

4th of July in WY

Last year I had so much fun up at the cabin for the 4th of July with the Beesley Family, that I decided I'd go up again this year. We pretty much did the same stuff as last year, but it was fun then and so we figured it would be fun again this year too, and it was. The weather was a little colder this year so we weren't quite as anxious to get in the water, but everyone still did. The boys went skiing and the girls went tubing. I was very careful and decided a little tube ride for me and the babies would be fun. It wasn't anything wild, I just had them pull me behind the boat for a little bit. (We left the camera at the Cabin that day, so no pictures of all that fun.)
One of my favorite things we did was go on a hike around Half Moon Lake. It was so pretty and because of all the rain, there were a ton of wild flowers. We were going to hike to the river that flows into the lake, but I'd say about a quarter of a mile before we got there the trail was submerged under water, so we called that our stopping point and turned around.

Mariah and I at the end of the trail.

We went and played a little golf on Ricochet Golf Course and I was the one to hit it closest to the hole. I think the boys had a better time seeing if they could hit the balls clear down to the lake instead of trying to get a hole in one.

Me showing off my awesome glofing stance.

We played games (a must with the Beesley family) and ate really good food. Pinedale always has a great fireworks so we drove to town to see the show. All in all we had a good time.

Cherry Picking

My brother, Zane, and my in-laws both have cherry trees in their yards and they have made the offer that if you would like some cherry's all you have to do is come over and pick them. It's been a while but I still have memories of going over to my grandparents house in the summer and having to spend hours picking cherries so that we could then take them home and can them. Neither picking nor canning were on my top fun summer activities list, so I've never taken either of them up on their offer. However this year I decided to go and try it again. It wasn't as bad as I remember and it actually didn't take us that long. We stopped by Zane's house first and picked about one and a half gallons worth. We weren't sure if that was going to be enough for our cherry loving self's, so we went to Mike's parents house too. Their tree had so many cherries on it so we picked another 3 gallons to give away to family and friends. The great thing is that they both have peach trees, so I'll be back at it in August.
