A Weekend in Vernal

As some of you might know, Vernal is home to the Dinosaur National Park. It is also home to my Grandpa Hacking, my Aunt Barbara and some of my cousins. This weekend my family took a trip out there to celebrate Easter. We were celebrating it late because during the real Easter weekend my Aunt was visiting her son and daughter-in-law in Philadelphia who just had a cute baby boy.
When we arrived we went straight to the gully where we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire and sang cheesy camp songs. That night we played a game of Shanghai, similar to Phase 10, which is a favorite Hacking family past time. On Saturday as tradition would mandate we dyed our Easter eggs and all loaded into the back of my grandpa's truck and headed up to Chocolate Rock for a delicious lunch, complete with homemade cinnamon rolls and more Easter traditions. We rolled, and occasionally threw, our eggs down Chocolate Rock and hunted for Easter candy and baskets. As always we had a great time.

Guitar Hero

My husband loves playing computer games whether it is XBOX, Play Station, Nintendo, Atari, etc... he could play for hours, no days at a time and never get bored. I on the other hand not so much. So, when a friend of ours brought over the game Guitar Hero and I played it, I knew there was a computer game out there for me after all. After a week of searching for the just released version for the XBOX 360 we finally found it in stock at Best Buy and bought it. I (and my husband) have been playing it ever since. I wake up humming the tune of Mother "as made famous by" Danzig or John the Fisherman "as made famous by" Primus and think up new strategies on how I can hit the fret keys faster and with more accuracy. Who knew playing a fake guitar would be so much fun.
