A Weekend in Vernal

As some of you might know, Vernal is home to the Dinosaur National Park. It is also home to my Grandpa Hacking, my Aunt Barbara and some of my cousins. This weekend my family took a trip out there to celebrate Easter. We were celebrating it late because during the real Easter weekend my Aunt was visiting her son and daughter-in-law in Philadelphia who just had a cute baby boy.
When we arrived we went straight to the gully where we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire and sang cheesy camp songs. That night we played a game of Shanghai, similar to Phase 10, which is a favorite Hacking family past time. On Saturday as tradition would mandate we dyed our Easter eggs and all loaded into the back of my grandpa's truck and headed up to Chocolate Rock for a delicious lunch, complete with homemade cinnamon rolls and more Easter traditions. We rolled, and occasionally threw, our eggs down Chocolate Rock and hunted for Easter candy and baskets. As always we had a great time.
